A Mother's Instinct

After a few months, Jim began to crawl, and we discovered that one foot was in trouble. It turned in and under and would have flopped if something weren't done. We went to the best Orthopedic MD in town and he put high, white shoes on Jim with an iron rod connecting the two, with his feet in proper place. He said keep them on his feet all the time.
Summer came and he wanted to walk, but couldn't, of course. He learned to crawl with that brace on, some way.
Finally, as summer wore on, I talked them into leaving them off for lots of hours during the day, and he learned to walk. They build up the side of his shoe to help.
Evidently all this worked to straighten his foot out, for there is no evidence of a crooked foot anymore.
