At some point, Uncle Bill and Aunt Eva asked me to come live with them instead of commuting to school, but Mother would have none of that, and she ended up moving with me to San Angelo and commuting herself to one of the country schools to teach.
I think we rented a duplex in San Angelo in my high school senior year, and Mother did the commuting to the country school. I had done the commuting for three years previously. Those years are a little vague to me, though.
We always went to Aunt Eva's for Christmas, even then, I think.
When Mother moved to San Angelo, Aunt Lura and Mama returned to East Texas. Mama was never content away from her home in Murchison, so Aunt Lura took her back to the old home place there.
